Pumpkins have inspired today’s mood board. You don’t have fall without the color orange and as we are well into fall and today is Halloween, it felt like the appropriate color for today. Orange is the color most associated with fall and therefore often referred to as a classic autumnal color. It is most apparent in nature during the fall with the color of the changing leaves and of course with pumpkins. There is a happiness association with this color since it is inspired by the natural pigments of earth. Orange is also a bold and energetic color that grabs attention and gets noticed. The brightly saturated hue will always get noticed especially when paired with neutral tones and surroundings.
There are several ways to bring this color into your space for fall. Pumpkins themselves are great for decor and while they look great outside on front porches and steps, they also look good inside set on a mantle, by the fireplace or set on an urn style planter for a slightly fancier look. Foliage is another great way to bring in this color in a subtle way.
