Bathroom Design: Designing with Green

Our client’s favorite color is green and we decided to really embrace that color and use it as the jumping off point for the re-design of the main bathroom. We started by looking at several green tile options and then decided on one that offered variation in color so that the shower would not fall flat since it’s larger in size since it’s a wet room. We will be tiling the 3 walls as well as the ceiling so there is a lot of area to cover.

Once the tile was selected, we headed to look at options for the countertops. The countertop selection is going to be an important selection since we want to wrap it onto the wall as a backsplash. It’s going to be the focal of each vanity and the wow moment for the entire bathroom design. Our client really likes dramatic veining and so do we! It’s going to make such a statement. We do however want to contain the slab to the vanity which is why we will be building out an arch to frame each vanity. Since we have a lot of green going on, we are going to keep the flooring neutral and warming up the space with warm wood cabinetry.

When it came time to make plumbing and lighting selections, we always love mixing metal colors. The plumbing and light fixtures are going to be brass and are going to pop off of this green wall shower tile and green marble backsplash. We will be mixing the brass with bronze cabinet pulls and a bronze shower glass door as this will pair beautifully with brass and also pull the browns we have in the slab. We are starting construction and can’t wait to see this design come to life!
