Classic Bathroom Remodel

Today we are featuring our classic remodel bathroom project. Take a peek at the concept post for this space here. Our remodeled bathroom full warmth, charm and handmade details is finally here! We worked with a lovely client on this project to transform her guest bathroom into an inviting and luxe space. The home is located in the central Austin neighborhood of Bryker Woods. The client purchased a “remodeled” home and we say “remodeled” because although it was updated, the selections that were chosen were very builder-grade. There was nothing special about this home so we worked with our client to customize it in several different ways. One of the first rooms we tackled was the guest bathroom.

The Before

We started this bathroom remodel with a dated, old and generic space. It felt like an afterthought. It was a white box but had a lot of potential. Everything was pretty generic and definitely did not evoke the warm and inviting feel we were after.

The Design Plan

The goal of design was to create a space that felt warm, inviting, custom and luxe. And all in one small space! The classic bathroom design features a combination of traditional and natural materials used in a modern way. The natural stone floor tile is laid in a classic yet modern pattern-a beautiful herringbone. The handmade tile in the shower is unique, individual and laid in a straight stack-another more modern way to lay the tile. Warmth is added through a custom white oak vanity and beautiful brass plumbing fixtures and lighting. These selections are all independently gorgeous on their own but paired together, they elevate the space into something new, something inviting. Rather than just paint the walls, we decided to add wall paneling to add texture and introduce a secondary color.

A classic bathroom remodel that is sophisticated, elegant and elevated for our client and her guests to enjoy! I am so grateful to our client for collaborating with us on this project and working through her home room by room to achieve her ultimate vision!
