We got the privilege to work on a bathroom remodel that turned out beautiful! This is a bathroom we worked on last year and we were able to photograph it recently. We can’t wait to share the final images! The concept we are calling Handmade Charm. See our behind the scenes photoshoot here!
We have been working with our client for a couple of years now helping with various areas in her home so we had a good idea of how we wanted the updated bathroom to feel for her once it was remodeled. The design ethos consisted of a classical, organic but freshly modern space. Yes this can be accomplished through furnishings and decor but architectural finishes and details really establish a space in a stronger way.
The materials play an important role in this design. We started by selecting natural materials such as limestone and marble. We then paired those materials with warm wood and handmade tile. The tile is irregular and imperfect, which only adds to the charm. Perfectly imperfect is the best way to describe the zellige tile. The bathroom is going to be a space full of various textures in soft neutral palettes that will create a classic and timeless design. For a metal finish, unlacquered brass is our direction. It will patina over time looking less bright, less new and have a more lived-in feel. I am wanting to do a tonal bathroom color for the walls and the paneling. A bright white will not have the ideal feel we are after and so we are looking at some soft off-white hues to take this space to the next level. All of these individual selections with handmade charm will have this bathroom completely transformed. Stay tuned for our before and after!
