We LOVE wallpaper! It usually finds a spot in most projects we design. And we really feel like wallpaper is having a much deserved moment right now, which makes us happy so many clients are open to the idea of including wallpaper in their design.
Here are some fun ways to have floral wallpaper as an accent. We are putting in a black and white floral wallpaper in a bathroom we are currently remodeling. It’s a bold accent in a small space that we are taking from floor to ceiling.
Wallpaper is a great way to get texture on the walls while keeping it subtle. The material to select for this type of look is going with a woven option such as grasscloth. A wool is another good option that gives a luxe texture. We used a gray grasscloth in a home office to add texture but keep it sophisticated.
If you want a statement, go with an Animal print! They are fun and a great option to use on an accent wall or in a small space such as a powder room. We did just that for a client in her guest bedroom.
Geometric shapes provide graphic appeal and are fun in large scale. We would definitely encourage a client to go bold with these patterns. One a large scale wall or all around a room, there is an amount of repetition that is pleasing to the eye.
Organic wallpaper is very fluid in shape and free flowing. We are drawn towards more bold patterns typically or depending on the space, we may do a bold pattern in a soft neutral to tone it down. We did just that in our Urban Modern project in the water closet.
